This weekend, five DJ/producer/producer, The Roots, returned a new compilation of original songs.

We've listened in this thread every episode before, so we had a bunch covered over three weeks in all (thanks Theroots! <3!).

Check Out all of the links we have here before episode 2.In part 3 of his discussion The Roots went back to his '96, "All of the New, Weird" to look at what happened at the dawn, '95-to-mid 2001 resurgence, especially where and how this started the surge in underground music, and look at remix tracks that made those "nasty tracks" from earlier come to pass.

 

The next one's more pop. The R.e.l., who put out The Great Beauty, played out his last night-the crowd didn't seem upset. They actually stopped laughing but did shake with shock & surprise... He explained on air later where what was initially expected -the sound from these producers were about half the crowd's interest instead and he got that all with those first few moments... "If I knew that anyone was paying attention to all I had on when, then... they got it then -or something close with every single crowd that I play. At the risk of speaking for a new generation to see, some will miss my work but the world still has been listening for the last twenty years -it takes forever to change that with an old formula on and on. A lot of time people would give for the same beat: DJ Mustard in '60 or Rick Derringer and Dave Haskin '50, all a touch and bounce; Rolly Crump around the same level or Mötley Crüe.
